One of my very favorite things about Dylan is...

The way he sleeps.

Snug as a bug in a rug. Too cute!

Baby Landon Bruce Carter

We are excited to welcome our newest nephew/cousin into the family, little Landon Bruce Carter. The kids are so excited to have a new cousin to play with and they are already planning out the things they are going to teach him. Hannah said she is going to teach him how to ride a bike, walk, and talk. G says he'll teach him how to play ball and Dylan is going to teach him how to cause trouble. So, don't worry Chelle and Jeff your job should be fairly easy. Apparently our kids will take care of the hard stuff. :)

Bruce Family Campout

Dylan, Maddie, Hannah and G enjoying smores around the campfire

A couple of weekends ago we enjoyed a nice backyard campout with the Bruce side of the family. We pitched tents in Kay's backyard and had our own little tent city. We built ourselves a campfire, roasted marshmallows, sipped hot chocolate and did not sleep a wink. Oh, and there was a rumor that a little bit of tiolet papering may have occurred. Although that has not been confirmed. It was just like camping except we had running water, a real toilet, and pancakes in the kitchen in the morning. The kids had a blast playing with their cousins and sleeping outside. Overall I think it was a successful outing and we may even do it again next year.

G's first day of Preschool

G also started school recently and he is loving it. He changed preschool's this year and is now attending Youngster University. He loves it. His teacher is Miss Laura and I'm pretty sure he has a crush on her. He tells me quite often that he REALLY likes her. I think it's so cute. It's fun to see how excited he is to go to school and even more fun to see how excited he is when he comes home to tell me all about what he did that day. He has even been the leader already and was able to take the treat for everyone to eat. He is so smart and his teachers are impressed with how much he already knows. He is going to do great this year.

Hannah's first day at the "Big School"

Hannah's first day of Kindergarten began on August 31. She was so excited. She has been talking about going to the "big school" since we moved to this house. She used to sit at the window and watch the kids walk to school every day. Well, her day finally came and she is now one of those kids. She loves her teacher Mrs. Hatch and although she doesn't have any friends in her class she is making new friends and loving it. She is excited about learning and is so smart. I just can't believe how big she is getting. It's bittersweet sending her to school now. She is growing up and I'm not sure I like it. A large part of me wants her to stay little longer.

The family biking down to Garden City from the condo

Every year my family heads up to Bear Lake for our annual overnighter and day at the beach. The kids always look forward to it and this year was no different. We decided to take the bikes with us so we could enjoy a little ride around the town. It was a lot of fun. I just wish we would have had more time to ride than we did, but the kids had to get some swimming in before the day was over.

Anyway, we enjoyed a day at the beach, riding on the jet ski and of course our yearly fresh raspberry shake. We even managed to come away without any major sunburns. I'm pretty sure that was a first. At least for me!

Our first visit from the Tooth Fairy

Last month we had a very special visitor. It was someone that we've anticipated coming for quite sometime. They had never been to our house before, but we have heard from others that when this certain visitor does come it's for a very special reason. The reason being that someone has lost a tooth.
Yes, the tooth fairy made his/her debut at our house on the night of August 22, 2009. Hannah lost her first while shopping at Kohl's department store. She says it wasn't painful when Ryan pulled it out, but it was a little scary. She was very excited in the morning when she found that the tooth fairy had brought her a very special surprise.
Here is a picture of her beautiful smile!
